Dr. Simmy Dhillon’s passion lies in all aspects of dentistry and enjoys working with kids, adults and elderly alike. She looks forward with great hopes to live and work with the people of the beautiful Kelowna, BC.

Jackie Registered Dental Hygienist

A positive attitude, gold-standard clinical excellence, and an unwavering commitment to patient needs have been Jackie’s foundation since she joined Highland Family Dentistry in 2007. She approaches her work with gentleness, thoughtfulness, and meticulousness, taking pride in customizing each hygiene treatment plan to meet her patients’ unique needs. Jackie received her Dental Hygiene degree from Algonquin College in Ontario and holds a Certificate in Local Anesthetic for Dental Hygienists from the University of British Columbia.

Jackie enjoys hiking the local hills or playing golf at one of the Okanagan's nearby courses in her free time, unless she is already busy watching her daughter dance. While you might not detect an accent, Jackie's Irish heritage holds a special place in her heart. She cherishes the opportunity to travel back to Ireland from time to time to share a glass of Guinness with her kinfolk!

Shari Registered Dental Hygienist

Shari is originally from Sechelt, BC. She obtained her BSc in Dental Hygiene from the University of Alberta in 1997 and joined Highlands Family Dentistry in 2011. With a strong commitment to professionalism, integrity, and a meticulous work ethic, Shari strives to provide patients with the highest level of dental hygiene therapy and preventive care. She’s known for her kindness, compassion, and thoroughness in her work.

Shari takes great pride in being the mother of three teenagers. You can often find her cheering loudly on the sidelines of basketball or volleyball courts or at a dance studio. Shari and her husband, Brady, enjoy outdoor activities such as mountain biking, skiing, hiking, and boating – anything that keeps them moving and smiling. In the winter of 1990/91, Shari competed in the Canadian Winter Games. Guess which sport?

Alison Certified Dental Assistant

Alison is an invaluable member of our team. She’s kind and is a sincere advocate for our patients. Her patient and caring nature shows Alison's dedication to her role. She listens attentively, explains procedures clearly, and goes above and beyond to educate and assist our patients in every possible way.

Alison earned her Certified Dental Assistant degree from Okanagan College and joined Highlands Family Dental in 2016. She and her husband, Glendon, were born and raised in the Okanagan. It was an easy decision to raise their three daughters here – mostly on the soccer pitch! During long weekends, you can often find Alison camping around a slow-burning fire or hiking a local trail with her family and Schnoodle, Ollie. If she ever gets a moment to herself, Alison's creative hands are happily at work sewing, knitting, crafting, or baking.

Lucia Certified Dental Assistant

"Lucy" joined our team with a wealth of experience, knowledge, energy, and cheerfulness. She’s attentive and detailed in all aspects of clinical care – her gentle touch with patients never goes unnoticed. It’s rare to see her without a caring smile or a cheerful comment to share. Lucy’s tireless dedication and limitless enthusiasm are a big part of what establishes the standard of excellence at Highlands Family Dentistry.

Amanda Chairside Dental Assistant

Amanda has been a chair side assistant for 5 years. She has a zest for leaning and attention to detail. She is a great advocate for her patients.

Originally from Alberta Amanda moved to BC 7 years ago and just a year ago moved to the Okanagan with her husband and three kids. In her spare time you can find her enjoying the outdoors. She loves to paddle board on Kalamalka Lake or search out new hiking trails with her family.

Helen Office Administration

Helen has been working in the dental profession for over 40 years, and her extensive experience is evident in the exceptional way she cares for our patients every day. As a valuable member of the Highlands Family Dentistry team, Helen's knowledge, courtesy, and organizational skills are always on full display at our front desk. Her vibrant energy, cheerful demeanor, bright smile, and distinctive Kiwi accent create a welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Helen is proud of her family. She has three incredible grown kids: two sons in Canada and a daughter living in Australia with her husband, and three beautiful grandkids.

Helen's tenure in the profession has made her an exceptional liaison between the clinical and administrative aspects of patient care. She effortlessly puts patients at ease, ensuring that all their needs are met and all their questions are answered during each appointment. When she's not at her desk, you might catch Helen running on the trails of Kelowna, speeding by on her bike, or working on her front crawl technique in the pool or the lake.
